Cake sensation Katherine Sabbath

28 Apr 2015

If you haven’t laid your eyes on the kaleidoscopic cake creations from Sydney based school teacher, Katherine Sabbath, you’re in for a treat!  Completely self taught, her drool worthy cakes have been an Instagram sensation with their vibrant colours and quirky touches.  I just think she’s a total superstar!  I would love to get my hands on one of her delicious looking cakes, which means I better start planning for a psychedelic rainbow unicorn party now.

Click On Furniture - AW15

The collections from Click On Furniture just keep getting stronger and their AW15 collection is one of their best yet!

From soft grey and blush scandi hues to rich jewel pallettes, as well as on trend copper and marble,  their extensive range of contemporary sofas, chairs, stools, tables and lighting mean that there’s something for everyone.  You may also have noticed some of their pieces featured on The Block over the last couple of series.

My stand out picks from the collection are the Arne Sideboard, Rodeo Side Table, Alexa Arm Chair and Toulouse Arm Chair.   That said – I’m in love with it all!

Watercolour Ceramics - Suite One Studio

16 Apr 2015

The amount of time I spend on Instagram is slightly insane, however, it's worth it when you come across a beauty of a find.  One of my recent Instagram discoveries is a small batch ceramics studio based out of North Carolina called Suite One Studio.  The brain child of owner, designer and ceramicist Lindsay Emery, the studio produces high quality porcelain using custom colour glazes based on water colour paintings and often finished with a delicate flourish of genuine gold.  To say I'm obsessed is an understatement, her luxe pieces are not only a food stylists dream but a great addition to your everyday tablewear.

The genius part about Suite One Studio is that Lindsay posts her latest batch every Tuesday night up to Instagram so that everyone get's the opportunity to grab themselves one of her gems before they sell out, which they inevitably do.  Can't wait to get a hold on one of her plates, but in the meantime I will just have to continue to lust after them from afar!

Favourite Mirror Finds - AW15

12 Apr 2015

Mirrors are a very versatile decorative element that can instantly do wonders to a room with little effort. They can help illuminate dark spaces by adding elegance and drama with the illusion of space.  When it comes to mirrors there are many styles and sizes to choose from that will suit your space.  Round shaped mirrors are currently amongst the most popular, especially for those who like myself love Scandi styling but I also love the hexagon and octagon shapes, which are effortlessly luxe.  Below are some of my current favourites available online, best of all there's one to suit every budget with prices starting from just $19.

On Trend Homewares - Target

7 Apr 2015

1) Boathouse Desk Lamp - Copper
2) Life Is Good Framed Wall Print
3) Marquee Ampersand Light - Industrial
4) Yeah Printed Cushion - 30 x 50cm
Finding affordable and on trend homewares often feels like mission impossible.  I love shopping for homewares, but often a $100+ vase or clock is not a practical investment, when it could be better put towards a solid and long lasting piece of furniture. They key to using affordable homewares is being selective and learning to mix and match them with your investment pieces, no one will be any the wiser!

On my ongoing hunt for homewares, I came across Target Australia's latest release of homewares.  Wow! There are some brilliant pieces for copper lovers courtesy of Lisa T's copper lust range, as well as a few Scandi and Industrial options for others.

Here are my top picks for Target's latest range - available online and in store.

1) Lisa T Rock Couture Rose Gold Clock
2) Side Table - White
3) Lisa T Rose Gold Wire Basket
4) Lisa T Paper Storage Bag
1) Lisa T Desk Organiser

Etsy at the Cullen

3 Apr 2015

Etsy.com is undeniably one of my favourite go to places for beautiful handmade and vintage homewares and gifts.  This month, Etsy.com, has partnered with one of Australia’s most remarkable hotels, The Cullen, to create an unforgettable curated accommodation experience.  Between 13th and 29th April 2015, guests will have the opportunity stay in a one-of-a-kind junior penthouse suite at The Cullen, styled with products available on Etsy.com

The brilliant creative duo Marsha Golemac and Brooke Holm are set to curate and style the suite, located in the trendy suburb of Prahran, Melbourne. The products, a mix of handmade and vintage homewares, have been sourced through Australia’s burgeoning Etsy community of makers and finders.

Visitors will also get the chance to experience the suite first hand at an open day on Saturday 11th April. This free event will give visitors the opportunity to tour the curated room and learn about the latest trends in homewares. The products featured in the space will be available for purchase at Etsy.com.

I was lucky enough to be given a sneak preview by the wonderful folks over at Etsy.com of just a few of the artisan makers who will feature in the suite.  See below for your exclusive peek too!

Bookings for the Etsy at The Cullen suite are now open at

Body Polish from Vice & Velvet
Vice & Velvet is a onewoman show. Made in Melbourne, Australia, Vice & Velvet combines an urban influence with a love for natural, sustainably sourced ingredients. Their 100% vegan soaps and natural bath and body products are handmade entirely from scratch; never using premanufactured “bases”.  I sampled their body polish in "Siren", which smelt A-M-A-Z-I-N-G and made my skin feel even better.  Full of organic shea butter, cocoa butter and olive oil, their delightful sugar scrubs exfoliate and moisturise the skin at the same time.

Rustic Bowl Susan Simonini
Susan Simonini handbuilds rustic, functional and decorative pottery from earthy, texture
clays from her homebased ceramics studio on the Gold Coast. This rustic bowl has been hand formed and dipped in a beautiful snowy white glaze, with the rim left unglazed to create a striking contrast between the speckled white surface and the raw clay.  The bowl is simply beautiful and surprisingly lightweight!  I've been using mine to serve organic porridge with fruit and my favourite homemade coco-nutty granola in the mornings.

Linen Tea Towel Bind | Fold
Bind | Fold products are created by Victoria Pemberton, a dyer living and working in Melbourne, Australia. All of her work is created with intent and thoughtfulness, and works are intended to not only be functional, but also to be things of beauty. Her 100% Linen Eco Tea Towels are hand dyed using natural Indigo in a range of shibori technique and shades.

Plant Feelings Zine Ashley Ronning
Ashley Ronning is an illustrator and designer based in Brunswick.  The Plant Feelings Zine is filled with drawings and thoughts about feelings towards plants.  The insides are risographed with pinky/bluey/purple mix experimental riso ink on a random selection of green, purple, white and yellow paper.
