Delicious Donuts - Short Stop

22 Oct 2014

Mmmmm....donuts.  I dropped into Short Stop just off Little Lonsdale St in Melbourne last week after hearing about their delicious donuts!  I totally struggled to decide which one of their awesome donuts to attack - but ended up deciding on a "cake" donut in Red Velvet.  YUM - red velvet cake ring, filled with cream cheese icing and dipped in dark chocolate glaze!

The best thing about Short Stop is they offer a selection of filled, raised, cake and cruller donuts - in anything but your run of the mill flavours.  Think Earl Grey and Rose, Peanut Butter and Jam, Bourbon Creme Brulee and Banana Choc Hazelnut.  Go and check them out!

I'm a bit of a Banh Mi addict, and the delicious rolls and rice noodle bowls at Paperboy Kitchen, located on Little Lonsdale St in Melbourneare some of the best I've ever tasted.  Yummy rolls and Rice Noodle Bowls with glorious meats like BBQ chicken, pulled hoisin lamb, coconut pepper beef and satay tofu, all come with Asian Slaw, Carrot-Daikon Pickle, Sriracha-Mayo and Coriander.  You also get a little side of some deliciously spicy sweet popcorn with your order!  I even love the super cute table numbers, which are heaps of different plastic animals.

Diptyque - Total Crush

16 Oct 2014

Having just recently got back from a stay on the beautiful Perry St, West Village NYC, I've become a little obsessive again about my favourite candles in the world!  Our apartment was literally a 2 minute walk from the stunning Diptyque boutique on Bleeker St, I felt giddy every time I walked by.

If you haven't tried them yet, you need to!  My favourite scents for Spring/Summer are the tropical Mimosa, the intoxicating white lily of Muguet and the elegant 34 Boulevard St Germain.

In Australia, Diptyque candles retail for $78 and are available through a few select outlets such as Mecca Cosmetica

Dineamic - Gourmet food delivery

Working and living in the city means that it's often too tempting to grab a take away meal or some frozen junk at the supermarket when I can't be bothered cooking or am just way too tired to care!  So I'm always on the look out for alternatives that are delicious, healthy and convenient.  All the celebrities seem to have private chefs or gourmet food services, what about us!?

So, I stumbled upon a Melbourne based company called Dineamic a few months ago.  Their meals are all nutritiously balanced, packed with veggies, cooked in Melbourne by chefs, blast frozen for freshness and most importantly, absolutely freaking delicious!  Most of the meals serve 2, all you have to do is heat them up for a few minutes - uh, easy!

They offer a range of meals to suit different dietary needs, including gluten and fructose free.  They do deliver to a few locations throughout Australia, but are also stocked in a number of retail outlets including some IGA supermarkets.

Their meals aren't just limited to 'eat as is', I found a great range of recipes on their website that allow you to use the meals to create great pizzas, arancini and a whole heap of other things.  My absolute favourite to date is the Moroccan Lamb tagine with Israeli couscous, but I also love the curries - you can't go wrong with anything really!

Best of all, they offer 10% off for orders over $100 and 15% off for orders over $200.

Welcome to The Awesome.

2) The Modern - Glass Oval Coffee Table in Dark Oak - $495
3) Curious Grace - Triple-X Coffee Table by Sean Dix - $1045
4) Globe West - Como Marble Coffee Table - $1375

Who knew that searching for a new coffee table would be so difficult!  We recently got a new sofa, and I've been on the search for a new coffee table to replace my tired 7 year old Freedom Hip Hop version.  My obsession with geometric shapes led me to these amazing finds - I wish I could have them all!

I've had my eye on the Triple X Coffee Table by Sean Dix for some time now, but couldn't go past the newly released glass & brass version of West Elm's iconic Origami Table.  Now all that's left to do is wait for the delivery man, so excited.
